Joseph Gordon-Levitt played an alien you definitely saw in the casino city. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a bit of a "Star Wars" fan.

We see capitalism and corporations in all their glory and human nature at its damned finest. As the second act warms up, the Resistance fleet is ambushed by the First Order, but after escaping, they manage to remain out of range of both the Star Destroyers and TIE fighters of the Order — a frivolous way of delaying the conflict. In a traditional narrative, there are three acts: the beginning, the middle and the end. It is on Canto Bight that Finn encounters both the rich and poor in extremes. Then he sees the greed around him. The delay is left hugely unexplained. Yet the scene has left many fans confused. The arms dealers, we learn, sell weapons to both sides of the war and turn a profit from both the Resistance and the First Order. Finn and Rose sneak off the Resistance flagship and head to Canto Bight. Apart from they are both caught and thrown in jail, they never get their hands on the device they are seeking. We are never sure why this scene exists and how it affects the overall plot. These bizarre aliens are often not too concerned with the ongoing war. We could see these arms dealers, who are playing both sides, have an influence over galactic events in Episode IX. Act 2 is all the bit in the middle, which is usually used to build tension and delay the satisfaction of the outcome. He reveals the reason he is hiding out is because he was tempted to kill his former student, Kylo Ren, he was convinced he would he turned to the dark side. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}Star Wars: The Last Jedi was anything but a flop. The motivations are never fully explored. Canto Bight is a place full of greed. We see an alien dwarf-like creature mistake BB-8 for a slot machine and feed coins into the droid, much like humans playing slots at online sites and casinos. Not least of which was the scenes set on Canto Bight; the journey to a casino focused planet made by Finn and Rose. Well-received by old fans and newcomers alike, Rian Johnson did an excellent job of writing and directing a memorable Star Wars instalment that will join the list of classics set in a galaxy far, far away. Their aim is to get hold of a master codebreaker that can disable the imperial ship security systems and save the rebel cruiser. Certain scenes have come under scrutiny as a little bit stretched, unexplained and at times, irrelevant. We get the plot and character development as well as some stunning scenes, but a lot is left unexplained — is this reason enough for Skywalker to hide out in this remote place? These scenes introduce not only a new area to the audience but also new ideas to the series. But sometimes, you want a reason why a scene or event is happening. The Last Jedi , in these moments, may just hold up a mirror to humanity. It is during this act that The Last Jedi can feel a little bit artificial at times. A full-circle moment. When the pair ends up in jail and meet DJ, he is confronted with a choice — he has DJ telling him to fight for himself and join no other is the only way to be free and Rose telling him to join the Resistance. He had a sheltered upbringing, has not seen much of the universe and is not well-socialised. We watch it for the amazing action and heroic moments, the powerful showdowns and character confrontations and the overall feeling of space and time being bigger than we ever imagined. The casino planet is the perfect place for him to learn about corruption, class divide and the horrors of the First Order. Much of the character development occurs here, and there are many hurdles and barriers that prevent the good guys from immediately overcoming the bad guys. Act 1 is about setting the scene and introducing the conflict. Indeed, there was a lot of hype about Canto Bight before the release of The Last Jedi , perhaps due to the leaked images of the unusual casino planet, and its. In being there, Finn and Rose manage to plant seeds of the Resistance by helping people and spreading the love. It seems inconsequential. The young boy at the end of the film is the same boy seen by Rose and Finn at Casino Bight. He seems to love the place at first until Rose encourages him to look deeper. During our time on Canto Bight, we are treated to scenes of arms dealers gambling and jockeys beating their racehorses. Which leads us to Canto Bight , the location of one of the most seemingly unexplained and bizarre scenes in the film, and perhaps the one that has led to the most criticism. They show the audience a grey area between the dark and light that we have come to expect from Star Wars. Act 3 is in this format focused on the climax of the action and resolution of conflict. Yes, it was aesthetically pleasing, symbolically rich and crammed full of intergalactic action. Canto Bight also shows us citizens of the galaxy who side with neither the Resistance or the First Order. It could become significant to the plot in future Star Wars films. Yet The Last Jedi fails somewhat, at least in the opinion of a handful of critics, in its sometimes bloated-feeling scenes in Act 2. It was more successful than Solo: A Star Wars Story that failed to catch alight at the box office, even though it was critically acclaimed by fans.
